About ITLA

The Indiana Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA) is a community of dedicated attorneys committed to protecting the rights of injured individuals and advocating for a fair and just civil justice system. Founded on the principles of justice, accountability, and advocacy, ITLA serves as a powerful voice for trial lawyers across Indiana.

Our Mission

The Indiana Trial Lawyers Association is dedicated to the constitutional rights of open access to the courts and equal protection under the law for all persons in Indiana.

What We Do

• Advocacy & Legislative Efforts
  ITLA actively works to promote and protect the right to trial by jury while opposing policies that unfairly restrict access to justice. We advocate for laws that benefit Indiana consumers, workers, and families.

• Education & Professional Development
  We offer top-tier legal education through seminars, workshops, and conferences, ensuring our members remain at the forefront of trial advocacy.

• Networking & Community
  Our organization fosters a strong, collaborative network of trial attorneys dedicated to justice. Members gain access to invaluable resources, mentorship, and a community of like-minded professionals.

The Indiana Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA) was established in 1956 and organized as a 501c6 organization.

ITLA Leadership and Governance

ITLA’s By-Laws establish the rules under which the Association operates.  The control and management of the Association is vested in the Board of Directors, which directs the affairs and formulates the policies of the Association.  The Executive Committee is empowered by the Board of Directors to conduct the day-to-day business of the Association between Board meetings. The ITLA staff advances the mission of the organization.
